The Atlantic Group has a long history of performing digital analytical aerial triangulation using state-of-the-art, off-the-shelf AT software.  The processes for extending and densifying surveyed ground control have evolved from traditional metal and bristol board templates through manually operated, high resolution stereoplotters and comparators, to fully automated digital aerial triangulation solutions that require minimal operator intervention.

Each improvement in technical approach has introduced more accuracy into the map-based products development process through the use of more aerial photo control points, while reducing over-all production costs.  We have carefully selected Z/I Imaging’s “ImageStation Automatic Triangulation” (ISAT) Software as our primary software platform for developing fully automated aerial triangulation solutions. According to GIS DEVELOPMENT  “ISAT is an innovative automatic triangulation package that delivers the best-matched multi-ray tie points by using a robust built-in bundle adjustment during all phases of the image matching operation.” ISAT provides: GPS/INS data processing, automated footprint selection that also allows users to graphically select footprints/models/blocks/strips, unlimited project size using sub-blocks, camera calibration, automatic parameter selection and analysis for self calibration, and more.

By integrating ISAT into our aerial triangulation solution process, we are able to develop highly accurate, fully automated aerial triangulation solutions. The process includes introducing the individual interior image orientations, auto-determination of tie points, completion of the final block adjustment analysis, and delivery of individual image orientation parameters.
